Hoghton Tower Farmers Market - December

Here's me eating ice cream in the snow.

Here's my mum making our very popular and very good black peas.

Ice cream sales were low because of the snow. But we sold out of black peas. Thats the last market this year, but we will be back in January at Appley Bridge on the 15th, and Hoghton Tower the day after. Thanks everyone who bought anything!

Morecambe Farmers Market - November

Today we did Morecambe Farmer Market where we were selling ice creams and cheese. It's a very good market.

Back there for the Christmas Market on Thursday the 9th of December.

I have made some new ice creams for Christmas. They are chocolate (we had run out again), raspberry ripple, and Christmas pudding ice cream. I'm very pleased with them all!

Burscough Farmers Market November 14th

I haven't updated this blog for a while so here's a post to show that we are still going! Today we where at Burscough Farmers Market. We had cheese and ice cream for sale. The cheese sold well especially the Lancashire cheeses so I'll get more of them next month for the Christmas Market there.

Next weekend is Appley Bridge Market on Saturday and Hoghton Tower on Sunday, where we will be trying a new thing - Black peas.

Then on Thursday the 25th of November we will be selling cheese and ice cream at Morecambe Farmers Market.

New Ice Creams

Here's the fruit before I add the cream for two new ice creams. There's another batch of plum at the back (plum is one of my favourite ice creams so far) and at the front is a brand new flavour - Greengage. It tastes lovely so far! Greengages are like green plums, I'd never tasted one before but they are amazing. They taste a bit like gooseberry, a bit like apple and a bit like plum. Very exciting. All our fruit ice creams are made of fruit, sugar and cream, nothing weird.

Hoghton Tower Farmers Market - August

This was our best farmers market yet, we sold a lot of Whinberry Ice Cream, though I still have about ten left until it is all gone.

Hoghton Tower Famers market July 2010

It was a very rainy and windy day at Hoghton Tower Farmers Market, but we did surprisingly well. We had the new whinberry ice cream, Lancashire griddle cakes, meringues and strawberry and gooseberry custard tarts. As you can see above, the rain washed the writing off our chalk boards. Thanks to everyone who bought something!

Scarisbrick Farmers Market

At Scarisbrick Farmers Market on Tuesday. We soon sold out of Sweet Potato and Pecan Ice Cream which always seems a good seller though it's unusual.

Blackcurrants

Freshly picked blackcurrants from the allotment make a lovely, and very strong ice cream. Our fruit ice creams are made from only fruit, a bit of sugar and cream.

Early Stall at Hoghton Tower Farmers Market

Here's our stall at our first 'Merchants of Hoghton' Farmers Market in June. We now have a much better 'list of flavours' blackboard.

Foraging for Berries

These are whinberries we picked from the bushes growing wild on Winter Hill near Bolton. They are very slow to pick and take ages as the berries grow very spaced out on the little plants. They make lovely ice cream though.
